UPANISHAD

Upanishad-Key to the Universe Knowledge

Indian philosophy is the most certified and includes all aspects of human life. Indian philosophy guides a man on to to become supreme itself i.e Brahman. The main sources of Indian Philosophy are "VEDAS". These are the scriptures said to be originated from supreme power. Indian Sages in their deep meditation state saw those hymns and forwarded as it is to their pupils. As hymns are transferred to the next generation by speak-listen method, means listening from Guru and reproducing as it is without any script or written notes  (" Vaak-Shravana Maadyama" ) thus vedas  are also called as "SHRUTIS".
The end part of vedas are termed as "VEDANTAS" or "UPANISHADS". These upanishads are sammary of all the four Vedas. There is one statement  saying " एकम् सत्यं विप्राः बहुधा वदन्ति " means Truth does not differs but interpretation may differ. So we find more than 100 upanishads in Indian philosophy. Among 100 upanishads 10 are considered as major upanishads. They are ISHA, KENA, KATHA PRASHAN, MUDAKA, MANDUKYA, AITAREYA, TITTIRIYA, CHANDOGYA, BRUHADARANYAKA.
